MS Dhoni one of the greatest captains in Indian cricket as well as world cricket. Mahendra Singh Dhoni born on 7th July 1981 in Ranchi. His father Pan Singh, mother Devaki Devi, elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni and Sister Jayanti. Dhoni married Sakshi Rawat. He has a daughter named Ziva Dhoni, born on 6th Feb 2015.

He started his cricket journey from Central Coal Fields Limited, then played for the Bihar u-19 team, selected for India A, played for Indian national cricket team. He captained at a time when big players were playing. Players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan played under Dhoni’s captaincy. It was a big thing to captain such big players and he did it. He said captaincy was a job for him and he did it as a job responsibility.

  • His paternal village Lwali is in the Lamgara block of the Almora District of Uttarakhand.
  • Dhoni’s parents moved from Uttarakhand to Ranchi, where his father worked in junior management positions in MECON.

  • Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni studied in the same school at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi.
