Building Trust in Relationships

This comes easy for some, not so much for others.  Trusting someone can be difficult, especially if others have taken advantage of you in the past.  That being said, trust issues can be a detriment to any relationship, so I’m asking the community to share their insights on building trust in relationships.

Have you had trust issues in relationships before?  How did you overcome them?  What would you have done differently in hindsight?  Share you stories with us, they may be able to help someone else going through similar issues.
