Living the Light is Living an Inspired Life
We have all heard the phrase “get in the Spirit” or “Team Spirit”; the deeper, unseen essence of these phrases is vital to living an Inspired Life. Spirit refers to our Life Force Energy, it is the aliveness that never changes. In fact, it is a constancy that is vital and that expresses our alignment with the source of all that exits.
When disconnected from our life force energy we lose our spirit and we disconnect from living an inspired life. When we lose those qualities that we define as spiritual, we lack a sense of unity, we lose love and self-respect and we become less tolerant, selfish and we lack compassion for self and others.
Cleansing the Mirror
Being spiritual doesn’t mean living life in a cave. It is more about your soul becoming a mirror that reflects the Divine light and the spirit of all life. As we go through life having our personal experiences the mirror becomes dim and clouded. It requires clearing off the mud. We need to define the grime and polish our mirror.
We need to recognize and clean our old wounds. By looking at our mirror of life and clearing away the debris we are allowing the light of spirit do its work.
Yes, it is a complicated and busy world we live in and you may be saying, “Well, that all well and good but the real world is where we live and struggle to pay our bills and put food on the table.”
The truth is you are the light. Love and compassion are your true nature.
Facing Resistance
Any resistance or arguments for evidence contrary to this will not alter the truth of who you already are.
As we go through life it is our own thoughts, our own doubts and beliefs that dim the mirror. It is the drama we created and relive over and over again that adds the layers of soot to our mirror (soul).
The concept of the light is referenced many times throughout major religions and spiritual teachings. For example: Matthew 5:14–16 says,
“You are the light of the world . . . let your light shine before others…”
Within each of us is this light…the light of the flame is very bright; it is the light of our Divine spirit. No matter what’s going on in our life or the world around us, that light never goes out!
Obstacles are Shadows
You may have obstacles or barriers casting a shadow on your light such as fear, insecurity, judgment or others and yourself. You may have feelings of shame and guilt but these are just stories you are telling yourself. These stories are not only yours; they have been around for centuries and we have listened to others reinforce them.
The Practice of Remembering
Remembering that you are the light is a truth that is beyond personality, identity or circumstances. This is the level you are called to in order to live an inspired life. It is essential to your inner peace and well being and happiness that you remember that you are the Light.
Listen to your inner voice…what is it saying to you about yourself? Counter act anything negative by saying kind words to yourself. Compliment yourself each day, it may feel awkward at first but keep going after sometime it will feel quite natural as you claim your truth.
Pay attention to what your heart has to say. Witness your caring loving heart and spend time in gratitude sending your light and love to those you care about. Feel the light expand within you and go further, ask for divine help in sending your love around the world.
Contemplate on the Beauty around you. Bring more of this into your life. When you feel anxiety or frustrated focus on the beauty, buy yourself some flowers, spend time in nature, work in your garden. Beauty will lift you up and restore your focus on the light and you will feel the value within yourself.
Reignite the Flame. Take time out to imagine the flame of light within you burning like a candle. See this light growing brighter and expanding filling your heart and moving throughout your whole being. Know that as your light blesses others it is also blessing you too because you have remembered who you are.
There is nothing you need to do or say to be the light; you don’t need to be right.
You don’t have to be the best. Simply stand in the beauty of who you truly are as a child of God. Remembering who you are will transform every area of your life, your relationships, your interactions with others and your relationship with yourself and with the Divine.
As you remember the truth of who you are give thanks for the light within you…the light that shines forever.
…. Love and Light, Christina
