What is Spirituality?
I’ve heard this question so many times and I have heard so many different responses. What spirituality means depends on who you ask. Some think it is New Age. I believe it is more of a way of being and living life of acceptance and alignment with all that is. Spirituality is basically a matter of consistency between our higher intellect (our conscience) and our thoughts, words and actions. It is when our thoughts and movements are in harmony with our conscience and the highest spiritual ideas within us.
THERE IS NO OTHER … WE ARE ALL ONE WITH ALL THAT EXISTS.
The basic principle is, “Do unto others only what you would like others to do unto you.” We have all heard this so many times. Spiritual awareness is the understanding that we are the other, the other is us, whatever we are doing to another, we are actually doing to ourselves. We cannot be in Spiritual alignment if we are harming others.
OUR INNER SELF IS THE INNER SELF OF ALL BEINGS
The process of moving towards the inner self is a daily practice of living Spirituality. Ultimately, we become identified with all beings, in love and union. This is not based on physical love or union, nor on emotional personal love. It is the feeling of oneness, beyond the differences of the personalities and appearances. When we look inward, towards our inner self for strength, security and fulfillment, we eventually expand outward to include greater identification with the whole. Spirituality is complete acceptance and unity with all beings independent of their race, religion, country, social class, political beliefs etc. Feeling comfortable with diversity helps develop a feeling of inner security and inner completeness. The concerns are for the needs of the whole. This is at the heart of spirituality.
